Clean-up Day & Summer Picnic 29.08.10

The Greenfields Residents Association supported by Waterford City Council plan to have an estate Clean-up Day Sunday 29th August from 1pm – 2pm. This is a great opportunity to lend a hand to ensure our estate is well maintained and presented.

Residents will be meeting at No. 1 Beech Court (near the entrance of the estate) at 1pm. Bags, pickers and gloves will be provided.

Following the estate clean-up, the Greenfields Residents Association will be holding a Summer Picnic from 2pm – 3pm on the green area near the entrance to the estate.  All residents are encouraged to come along.  Bring a picnic, a blanket and some nibbles and have a chat with your neighbours.  All motorists are asked to pay particular attention and reduce speed on the day to ensure we have a safe Clean-up & Summer Picnic for all.

Pride of Place 2010

The Greenfields Residents Association are pleased to announce that Greenfields has entered the Pride of Place Environmental Competition 2010.

This exciting initiative run by Waterford City Council will over the coming months monitor our estate and judge its appearance.  Regular feedback will be given to the Residents Association before our estate is judged for “Best Small Residential Area”.

The judges will be particularly interested in litter, appearance of public spaces, planted areas, trees, clean-up days and communications.  All residents are actively encouraged to take pride in Greenfields and to do your bit to help. Also many thanks to all those residents who have taken time to place flowers and hanging baskets around the estate over the past few weeks.

Should you have any suggestions in relation to Pride of Place 2010 please forward them to greenfieldswaterford@live.com

100th Day Challenge

The Childrens Group Link / Waterford City Council 100th Day Challenge will take place on Saturday 24th April.  As part of the challenge a team of volunteers will be in the Greenfields area participating in a general clean-up.  In order to generate as much funds as possible a volunteer will call to your house seeking a donation between 2pm and 5pm.  All contributions, no matter how small, will be much appreciated.  Collectors will be wearing identifiable vests and will carry a permit.
