Old Tramore Road Needs Urgent Repair
The Old Tramore road is in need of urgent repair according the Cllr Seamus Ryan. The labour councillor has been informed by the Roads Department in Waterford City Council that the project was put out to tender with a closing date of August 12th last.
The tenders received now have to be assessed and approval obtained from the Department of Transport to proceed to contract. The timeframe for commencement of the project depends greatly on how long it takes to get approval from the Dept of Transport.
Cllr Ryan went on to state that the road from Avondale to the Couse Roundabout is a particularly dangerous one and needs to be improved immediately.
“I am calling on the Department of Transport to approve this contract immediately and allow the much needed improvements to be made to this road. Residents living along the Old Tramore Road deserve to have a road that is safe for the both pedestrians and vehicles alike,” he said.
